Your Right to Breastfeed in California
CALIFORNIA PROTECTS THE RIGHT TO BREASTFEED
California protects a woman’s right to express breastmilk in the workplace: "Every employer... shall provide a reasonable amount of break time to accommodate an employee desiring to express breast milk" ... and ... "to provide the employee with the use of a room or other location, other than a toilet stall... for the employee to express milk in private."
CA Labor Code Section 1 Chapter 3.8, Section 1030-1031
California protects a woman’s right to breastfeed her baby in public: "a mother may breastfeed her child in any location, public or private, except the private home or residence of another, where the mother and the child are otherwise authorized to be present."
CA Civil Code 43.3
